Victory Metals has struck gold—or rather, heavy rare earth elements and scandium—at their North Stanmore project in Western Australia. The find is being hailed as a ‘world-class’ deposit.
This significant discovery has been acknowledged by the Geological Survey of Western Australia (GSWA). A division of the WA Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety. The GSWA plays a pivotal role in publishing pre-competitive geoscience data, which is essential for the exploration and development of the state’s mineral resources.
“We are honoured by the Geological Survey Department of Western Australia’s recognition of our clay-hosted heavy rare earth project as world-class,” Victory Metals chief executive officer Brendan Clark said.
“This endorsement underscores the significance of our discovery and highlights our commitment to advancing innovation in the rare earths sector.
“Our team remains dedicated to harnessing the full potential of this groundbreaking project, which we believe will play a crucial role in the future of sustainable technology and resource development.”
The North Stanmore project boasts an abundance of heavy rare earth elements (HREE), critical for producing the advanced technologies needed to facilitate a clean energy transition. Additionally, the project has uncovered significant scandium resources. These are a vital component in creating lightweight and durable aluminium alloys for use in;
– automotive
– aerospace
– defence, and;
– other high-tech industries.
Victory Metals’ collaboration with GSWA highlights the importance of industry and government partnerships in positioning Western Australia as a leading destination for exploration investment. The insights provided by Victory Metals assist partners like GSWA in enhancing mapping and geoscience data collection. Their actions are paving the way for future opportunities and discoveries.
The Ionic clay deposits identified at North Stanmore, are increasingly being recognised for their high potential. Western Australia is emerging as a key region for these essential resources.
