Monadelphous has now acquired RTW Steel Fabrication and Construction, located in Capel. RTW offers services to mining, industrial and commercial projects across Western Australia.
The deal is said to fill a need within the Monadelphous by complementing existing operations in the south-west. It will also help by consolidating their presence in the area.
“But, more importantly, it gives us the opportunity to offer additional services to existing customers including design, estimating, supply/fabrication and installation.”
RTW has previously worked with Iluka Resources and Talison Lithium. With regard to Iluka, RTW fabricated, treated, pre-assembled, installed and commissioned a side tipping hopper. They also supplied project management, labour and general support for the project.
RTW was contracted to assist Talison Lithium in the completion of the chemical grade lithium processing plant (CGP2) and the refurbishment of a crushing plant.Talison Lithium’s Greenbushes mine is one of the largest reserves in the world. The project involved up to 50 people on site at any one time, conducting trades from boilermaker welders, fitters, riggers, civil tradesmen and trades assistants.
Monadelphous has also recently announced $215 million worth of contracts with BHP, Rio Tinto and Fortescue Metals Group.
